Matches
This class will teach the age old technique of hammer
veneering with hot hide glue. Class begins with a discussion about the glue,
its mixture, gram strength, clarity, and viscosity. Students will do some
simple veneering with plain sheets of veneer and move onto book-matching
veneers with more dramatic figures. Finally, the students will use four
flitch-cut veneers to produce spectacular quarter-matched glue up.
