Finishing Furniture
October 22 & 23, 2011

In this workshop we will cover simple finishes. The day will start with wood preparation and sanding, followed by the mixing and applying of water stains and disscussion about oil stains. Shellac will be the material of choice for the sealer and top coats. The students will learn how to mix the flakes into a solution and the proper technique for brushing and rubbing out the finish. This is ideal workshop for ending the project classes. It will give you an opportunity to work out a finishing strategy for the projects you spend so much time on.
